Our Philosophy – Christian Perspective
Our focus on completely rebuilding the whole person during rehab comes from Scripture. Consistent with statements in Timothy 3:16-17, we see the person as a whole. All parts are interconnected, and actions cannot be separated or occur without affecting the other parts. For this reason, treatment programs at Pacific Hills are targeted toward the physical, the emotional and spiritual components of a person. As quoted in I Thessalonians 5:23, Paul expressed caring for the “body, soul and spirit” of the entire person.
The 12 Step program used in Alcoholics Anonymous follows from these teachings in the scriptures. At Pacific Hills, we developed the Christian 12 Step program to apply these teachings in the context of clients who are addicted to drugs or alcohol and who may have psychological scars as well. The scriptures guide our treatment philosophy and programs to enable us to provide better care. Our skilled staff members themselves are Christian men and women who have overcome their own drug and alcohol addictions. Some are licensed and ordained pastors.
