Christian Alcohol Rehab and Rehabilitation Centers
Our program is based on the Scripture, which we take as the indisputable word of God. We also use the basic 12 Step program of Alcoholics Anonymous, which is a program that is founded on the teachings of the Bible and that has seen a large degree of success over the years.
Traditional programs may address only the physical aspects of alcohol addiction, but we believe that treatment for alcohol addiction needs to address the spirit to be successful in the long term. We draw upon the Bible for guidance in developing our programs. Also central to the program is our belief that all humans deserve empathy and compassion. Our professional staff members in the Christian alcohol abuse recovery program include recovered men and women addicts who are licensed or ordained in the Christian church.
Pacific Hills offers two programs that clients can choose. The Christian 12 Step alcohol rehab program centers on Christ. The Traditional 12 Step program focuses on a relationship with God as the client may perceive God to be, in accordance with the ideas outlines in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. Regardless of which program the client opts for, the programs encourage recovery to a clean life via a stronger relationship with a greater being.
At Pacific Hills, we use the Life Recovery Bible in the Christian 12 Step program. The steps are often based on text directly from the Bible.
For example, Roman 7:17 states that “I know nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.” This is directly applied in Step 1 of the Alcoholics Anonymous program, which reads, “We admitted we were powerless over the effects of our separation from God-that our lives had become unmanageable.”
The Christian foundation of the Christian 12 Step program at Pacific Hills is evident in our staff members, who are former addicts and are firm believers in Christianity. For deeper Christian roots, we have incorporated the teachings of Celebrate Recovery, a program originally developed by Rick Warren of Saddleback Church. Rick Warren is the author of The Purpose Driven Life, and the pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. Founded 15 years ago, Saddleback Church now has nearly 4,000 chapters in the United States. Pacific Hills partners with Saddleback Church so that clients can attend Celebrate Recovery meetings. This provides them with continuity upon discharge from Pacific Hills, when clients are encouraged to continue to attend local Celebrate Recovery meetings as they continue working toward sobriety. Having a sponsor from Alcoholics Anonymous as well as one from Celebrate Recovery helps assist with recovery.
